Popular Question: How to Blog for SEO (Quick Tip for Business)

Contents

Should you blog for SEO?

Well, really, you shouldn’t blog for SEO. You should blog about a topic that you’re passionate about — about something that you work on, an industry that you’re involved in.

You should never start blogging just for SEO. If you think you're going to outsmart Google, good luck to you.

To the smartest, richest man on earth with teams of tens of thousands of people working to make sure that doesn’t happen, my money’s not on you. But my money is on you, when it comes to writing about the things you’re passionate about with a unique perspective.

So, if you start by talking about the things that are important to you, that you want to communicate to the world, and then you SEO optimize them that’s the best starting point.

Tips on How to Optimise Your Blog for SEO

So, how do you SEO optimize your blog?

Tip #1: Start writing by what you know and love.

Well, there are lots of simple tools and processes that we use: keywords, tags, relevant search terms — you need to build those into your content. But it’s important, I think, there are lots of tutorials on how to do that and, and many of them are very good. But what I want to talk to you about is the importance of focusing on what you know and what you love. Write about it.

Tip #2: Structure your content.

Think in terms of introduction, key points, breaking things up into paragraphs, and a conclusion. But write about the things that are important to you and then go through and SEO optimize it.

What you’ll find at first is that the stuff you write is possibly poorly written. It was for us when we started doing it. We realized that we thought we were good at writing, but it’s quite an art form, and it needs structure to flow and to keep people’s attention.

Tip #3: Implement SEO.

And then as you work through these blogs and you SEO optimize them, you’ll merge that information, the technical information, with the lyrical information, the informative side with the digital. And you’ll end up with posts that are ranking well, but that are really interesting and informative for people.

And in my experience, it improves your writing. You become a little bit more technical, a little bit more formal. You focus on making sure that you cover all the points. That’s the SEO is really helpful for that. And it forces you to think about your topic, Have you covered everything?

Summary

So, enjoy the process. Start with a focus on what you know, what you love. Use a classic, typical format and structure that you would use when you write for a formal letter and then implement the SEO.
